The humanity of it is beautiful, not despicable to me at all. I do wonder about his halachic basis, maybe you’d feel differently if it was t someone (visibly?) Jewish doing this.

And I couldn’t care less whether other religions have a mechitza or not. Personally I’d feel bad for anyone reform nowadays, they’re usually ill advised and indoctrinated in fallacy. If they did something I thought was beautiful I’d see it as such while being able to separate it from halachic deviations which I would take issue with.

The halachic deviation in and of itself shows us it is decidedly not beautiful, despite the fact that it might appear beautiful at the surface.

Perhaps the halachic deviations reveal to us that what appears to be a beautiful human experience is a shallow, empty expression designed to garner clicks and reaction without any real or positive impact.

When the normal mode of attire is jeans and a graphic T (or bare chested with a beach girl) and he puts on the white dress shirt and slacks with Tzitzis swinging for the hugs it’s intentional,  to make a statement about those who dress that way and no, that is not ok.

One need not claim to represent a group when you know people think you represent said group, especially when you have used your background to gain a following.

What does let live mean? I don't begrudge him his clicks or want him to take down the video, apologize, or do anything of the sort. I'm just responding to someone who claimed something was beautiful and I expressed that I felt it was less so.

The whole point of this production was for people to see and give love to/from someone who is visibly and proudly Jewish. If your issue is that he looks too much like you and you feel misrepresented, G-d bless you. I'd like to see the same indignation about the way Chaim Deutsch dresses, or anyone else being led away by police or standing behind a defense table in court.

I wouldn’t have any problem if he put on a big Na Nach kippah, and a T-shirt that said “I am a proud Jew”. We all know why he chose this particular attire. It’s misrepresenting the way those who wear that particular attire behave.

I think that people are upset that he specifically dressed up to misrepresent himself as being like them, similar to the discussion in the missionary thread.
