Carry On Luggage
« on: February 25, 2020, 01:11:19 PM »
Lately I've been traveling more for work and I'm looking into upgrading my hand luggage. I was hoping some of the more seasoned travelers can help me find the right luggage for me.

Here is the criteria:

Most interior room possible while still being allowed on the flight
Good movement for the long walks through the terminals
Lightweight
Good bang for the buck

Bonus Criteria:

Ability to expand
Exterior Pockets

I'm a big fan of hard cases.

Without bonuses: Rimowa aluminum.
With bonuses: Tumi Tegra-lite max international.

Both expensive, although you can find on sale sometime from Europe, but worth every penny.

Do you find that hard cases are harder to pack because there's less "wiggle room" since the exterior isn't flexible?

Thanks for the recommendations! I think these may have to wait until my next pay raise   ;).

Any recommendations for less than $150?

That would be the case with the Rimowa, very little room, but the Tegra-Lite is flexible enough. Main reason I got it was to be able to pull out my laptop/tablet at TSA.

Do you need to do it when you have TSA pre check?

No precheck? Or you fly airlines which don’t have it?
