Robinhood lets you buy and sell for free, but adds 1% to the buying price and takes 1% from the selling price. Allows for price changes while purchasing I believe.

Thanks, sorry I already have a Robinhood account;-)
So in the end after you buy and sell, you will have paid them a total of 1 or 2 percent?

Awesome, so you're all set. I believe the buying price factors in a 1% increase just in case the price jumps while you're completing the transaction, and the opposite for selling. It's not a fee, just a safegaurd on their part, but you often pay a bit less or get a bit more than they are quoting. Not a big deal in the scheme of things.

I don't really deal much with cryptocurrency, so I'm not sure, but I'd guess there are some benefits to one over the other.

I'm happy with them even though they started charging a little bit of a fee when selling my Bitcoin.

Just thinking about this. I don't believe you can send bitcoin to others via robinhood. So if you are looking to pay for things with it, you will likely need to use an app with fees, like coinbase. I may be wrong here, that's just my observation.
