What did you buy to prepare for the virus?

Masks/Gloves
Sterilizer/Soap/Disinfectants
Extra water/food
Paper Towels/Toilet Paper
Nothing. It's just the flu, bro!

Prepping for COVID-19
« on: March 03, 2020, 06:15:34 PM »
Are you doing anything to prepare for COVID-19? In anticipation of the outbreak, I've been prepping the past couple weeks.
Prepping how to avoid catching the virus, setting policies at work, and also buying goods in case the virus forces/convinces us to stay home. I also figured that once the panic sets in many items will go out of stock.

Some things I bought:
-Masks - multiple types
-Hand sanitizer
-Anti-bacterial soap
-Disinfecting Wipes
-Disposable gloves
-Some extra food/water.
-Paper towels/toilet paper

Have you bought anything in response to the virus?
Was your store out of stock on some things?

Poll attached.

We should all be gezunt!

If you daven with a minyan and Do not talk in shul you'll have nothing to worry about!

    Really scary what's going on!
If many of these products are made in the US there shouldn't be a shortage, but if in fact it's made in China then yes, kind of a dilemma.
For those who bought in those companies some stocks or bought these products and are reselling it, is probably doing quite well.

Hopefully we shouldn't need all those stuff, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
  So smart move!
Same way the sickness came in the spur of the moment or spread in a flash it can dissipate the same fast!
Wake up call for all of us!

Why water?

It doesn’t make sense but if you buy water to drink you may find all the stores out of stock when you need more. So you have to prepare before the panic thereby contributing to the panic.

The water from your sink can carry the virus?

No. People with filters have one less thing to think about.

Some things I bought:
-Masks - multiple types
-Hand sanitizer
-Anti-bacterial soap
-Disinfecting Wipes
-Disposable gloves
-Some extra food/water.
-Paper towels/toilet paper

Will share Lakewood availability of these items.

Masks - saw 3M in stock at Lowes at $5 and cheap ones at Shoprite last week. Both were sold out by Sat. night. Home depot has been out for over a month. Center of town had a few cheap ones in stock and I bought them all. One Walmart had an allergy mask left yesterday, I bought it. Went to another Walmart and found 3x packs of allergy masks, and a 3x 25 packs of surgical masks.

Hand sterilizer - Shoprite had a lot last week, Sat night all wiped out. Home depot and Lowes also had plenty. But all seem to be wiped out as of today. CVS had dozens of bottles yesterday, today wiped out. Walmart was completely wiped out, but no one noticed these little cans. If you can find anywhere, I would advise to stock up. It gets used up quickly.

Disinfectant wipes - Available everywhere, but running low and will get wiped out soon.

Food/Water/Soap/Paper towels/Gloves and everything else - available everywhere in plenty of stock

Didn't they already say not to get masks? I heard they are practically useless in this case, and you are only taking away from stock the medical facilities need.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

Good old fashioned soap and water. No need for anti-bacterial anything.

Purell or any hand sanitizer for that matter is gone from just about everywhere, no local stores have it and I couldn't find it anywhere online. This is getting crazier and crazier.

Although I did find this  :o https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2020/03/04/hand-sanitizer-recipe-purell-shortage-2020-coronavirus-prevention/4947807002/
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

The vodka one is not 60%+ alcohol.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.
