When science is influenced by outside forces it is by definition no longer science. 90% of the population either doesn’t believe in science or doesn’t know what the actual science is; both follow unscientific opinions despite how they may label it. It’s the tiny minority of people on either side that bother to actually read up and research, those are the only true believers in science, yet this tiny percentage would barely move the needle on any COVID/political correlation charts.

And this whole BS with vaccine rollout that “ensures equitable distribution of the vaccine” that is unscientific and slows down an already slow process and has caused doses to go
to waste.

You're arguing how bad the democrats are while the evidence proves without a shadow of doubt republicans fared far worse.

My initial argument was about how infection rate is not strongly correlated to policy. I went off on a tangent explaining how the science that most people believe in isn't actual science, and their intelligence level is irrelevant. But again, I fully agree that the "science" that a typical liberal is following since the fall surge should definitely prevent fewer COVID infections.

But to assume that, you also have to assume Democratic areas don't have different policies, negating the entire premise of Democrats being more restrictive than Republicans.

The only reason it's hard to point to policies having an impact is that it's very hard to measure policies on any kind of uniform scale when they vary so much from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Even after you somehow rate policies, you're left with unequal enforcement. Political leaning is an objective and binary piece of cake.

If you take for a given that Democrats imposed more restrictions, knowing Democrats fared better proves restrictions helped or at the very least didn't hurt.

To be honest, I stole this line from a meme I got in Hebrew, which would indicate that it was talking about Israel. But nothing kills a joke more than an overcomplicated script with two separate punchlines written in a foreign language. So I attempted to make a user-friendly English version.
