The idea of denying care to unvaxxed COVID patients is cruel and will likely make no dent in vaccination rates. The people that aren’t vaxxed don’t think there’s something to be afraid of, why would they get vaxxed in case they might need the hospital?

A better idea is to reward vaxxed patients by ensuring there’s always enough beds and staff to treat them at the proper level of care. If that means unvaxxed may sometimes get a lower level of care, so be it.

As mentioned above, there are loads of patients hospitalized from self inflicted causes and we don’t treat them any different. To make a sudden change and punish unvaxxed is cruel. The only possible excuse to deny unvaxxed patients would be if it motivated people to get vaccinated, but it won’t. If we want to ensure proper care to vaxxed patients we can do that without denying anyone treatment.

This wasn't controversial until one side of the political map found it to difficult to accept and reality and consistently tries pretending every aspect of the pandemic isn't real.

I never meant to spite. I meant giving care to the vaxed and other causes even if it requires denying or giving a lower standard of care to those who chose to screw everybody else. Giving a lower standard of care and denying care are one and the same from a moral perspective in such circumstances.

I am not the one who called for freedom, but that's what freedom would be. Personally, I'd rather put a gun to peoples head and vaccinate them.

If the healthcare is that great everywhere else why are they desperate to get to the US for treatment ? Go ahead & wait indefinitely for your procedure in England & when they botch it up good luck trying to get $1 out of them.

They have the reverse, they force you to take the vaccine. You're the one that advocated for freedom to prevent the collective from imposing that on others.

Anyone who wants a vaccine can get one.
Those who don't get one are making their own choice.  It's not the responsibility of everyone else to radically change their behavior to save them from themselves.

But they’re making a choice that will kill other people, significantly more than second-hand smoke or other legal choices that kill people downstream.

While this does show underreported COVID in some countries, it also seems to show something else:

Developed countries that reported accurate COVID deaths and show excess mortality equal to or lower than COVID death count is meaningful. It tells us that there isn’t this significant increase in deaths from economic/psychological/other causes, e.g. cancer patients whose remission lapsed but they couldn’t get their regularly scheduled screenings and didn’t discover the relapse soon enough).
