So heard immunity is real?
Is there a dumbed down version of this study that explains the practical implications? How prevalent are people that have pre-existing T-cell immunity? Did those with pre-existing immunity have COVID previously without antibodies, or is this people that were never exposed at all?

Fascinating. I may stand corrected- it’s possible for some people, exposure does equal infected.

It appears he is saying some people can develop immunity by being exposed to the virus, even though they would never test positive on a PCR test or develop antibodies (they would never be considered clinically infected).

Didn’t notice the Twitter thread until now, but he’s saying that previous infections of similar viruses is what gave them the initial immunity, and further exposure to COVID boosts the t-cell immunity without developing antibodies.

I didn't read what was shared, but it's possible this is just a curiosity until we know:
1. Could they spread curiosity further?
2. Does this immune response protect them in any way from subsequent (full-blown) infections.

If the answer to both these questions is no, then how does matter at all?

This could be the same as any other virus, where I'm guessing that if someone is exposed to a small enough amount of the virus (one cell, low viral load, I don't know the scientific term), then the body immediately fights that off and the patient never becomes infected.

Yes. The assumption until now was that exposure/infection induced immunity can be detected in ~99% of cases with an antibodies test.

Hospitalation rate is what we should watch, not case rate.
Vaccinated people, if they get it, should have a milder case.

You need all the numbers in order to know what's actually happening. If you only pay attention to hospitalizations, you're too late. FWIW, there have been concerning reports regarding hospitalizations in some areas of the country already.
