It was late and I could’ve/should’ve been less brief.

The difference is that the CDC statement says children under 2 “and/or” and the rest of the statement is not specifically referring to children under 2. The section underneath breaks it down clearly

Masks should not be worn by:

-Children younger than 2 years old
-Anyone who has trouble breathing
-Anyone who is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance
The reason they would suffocate is because they can't take it off if they have trouble breathing. While I didn't quote the CDC word for word, calling my post fake news is utterly ridiculous.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Why is it so complicated to FTT?

Speak for yourself. Did you see me say that it’s safe for children under 2 to wear a mask? I simply pointed out that the CDC didn’t say as claimed.

It’s not egregious fake news and I shouldn’t have used that term, it was lazy and I apologize. I just don’t think it’s what the CDC said exactly. For example, I’ve seen multiple reasons given (not by the CDC) for why children under 2 shouldn’t wear a mask-

Quote
-They have smaller airways, so breathing through a mask is harder for them.
-If it's hard for them to breathe and they can't tell anyone or take the mask off by themselves, they could suffocate.
-Some homemade masks might have pieces that a baby could choke on, such as strings or elastic bands.
-They will likely try to remove the mask, causing them to touch their face a lot. This can increase their risk of catching and spreading the virus.

Add this to the fact that young kids don’t spread COVID like adults and you have a lot of cons to recommend against wearing a mask.

Th truth is I’m basically nit picking so just leave it at that.

Anyone have any idea whether a 2 year old has to wear a mask on AC? I need to fly with our 2-yr old on a route that only AC flies direct, and I'm trying to decide between AC direct or DL with a connection...

Does over the age of 2 include 2 or not?

Please note, for those over the age of 2, wearing a face covering while travelling is a mandatory requirement issued by Transport Canada.

Tough call. Potentially not.
