For those in Lakewood: Amazing Savings (in Howell) has pocket hand sanitizers on the counters near the registers for a week already, with plenty in stock (as of recently). They are off-brand, emoji-themed bottles that sell for $1.99 for a one ounce bottle, but in my experience, they are not unpleasant to use. They come in Strawberry, Cotton Candy, and Vanilla Sugar scented.

This may seem obvious but it's worth it to constantly check all the online stores, I've been randomly checking all of them and I saw that walgreens had purell in stock, I put it in my cart, raised the qty to 2 as that was the limit and placed the order. It went through but with clear disclaimers that there is no timeline for delivery so who knows if/when it will actually show up.

Then I opened a new browser and did the same intending on shipping it to my office but during checkout I got a message that it's no longer available.
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

What about (antibacterial?) dish soap? Why aren’t people using that to wash hands?

Any is good.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Why is that better than handsoap?

Idk, I guess I’m assuming there’s a hand soap shortage too.

From what I read COVID19 is a weak bacteria but is enveloped in a lipid, a fatty enclosure, that helps it stick to skin and other surfaces. Breaking down that fat effectively neutralizes the virus. This is why CDC recommends soap, to break down the fat. I would assume the same is true for dish soap.

There's no reason to use antibacterial. Regular soap is the best option.

Because this is a virus and not a bacteria infection?
You don’t need “antibacterial soap” — which the Food and Drug Administration advisesto skip altogether due to a lack of evidence of its usefulness.”
