Rule #11 will probably be the hardest adjustment for people 'round here.

Only saw this now. Did you have a porch minyan over Shabbos? Are the local doctors (e.g. Dr. Rosen) on board with this plan?

AFAIK, no move the Rabanim made was without Dr Rosen, and he's been part of a porch minyan before this letter came out.

Are you joking?

Dr Rosen has been Davening at a porch minyan for weeks (from what I heard from someone living on his block).

The only thing that changed this week with my back porch minyan was that my sons agreed to join.

Since most (all) porch minyanim have been going on for weeks (without written Rabbinic approval), aliyos were mostly done in the fashion that is done in 770 on simchas Torah. Changing that now is going to be a challenge.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Come to 770 for simchas Torah and you'll see.

No chance.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

@S209
Very interesting. They claim it will be 10 people or less with masks and social distancing, but we’ll see.. like it or not, some local shuls will probably start opening this week to some extent

Some shuls were open throughout in OC. With strict SD rules.

Its intrestesting that the police interpret the law as 10 in a building and not 10 in a room. I know they have beein strict about this in LKWD.

There is a major difference between now and earlier. I really don’t think there is any excuse for a Shul having being open throughout, although I’m unfortunately aware of at least 1. At this point, it’s debatable (of course with SD). And I think shuls that remained closed will start reopening at some level.

Also, nothing really changed in the context of law and EO, it just the fact that people are realizing that life will have to go on, with new rules in pace.
Also, many don't see this as the pandemic GOV was screaming it was, it wasn't Ebola or similar Fatality rate. Yes, it's bad but not as bad as some were screaming, this makes ppl naturally more lax.

Maybe someone should give Murphy a buz.

This saddens me. I was under the impression that Dr Rosen’s community guidelines were unite conservative (in this area and others). It sounds to me like you’re saying that he was advising one thing and behaving differently.

I’d venture to say this pandemic has caused devastation and death the likes of which the Frum community could never have dreamed of. I am talking in reference to the somewhat lower level of danger, with presumably far more people with antibodies and far fewer currently infectious. Nothing proven, but there is room to debate. There is also a rising cost which gets larger each day, something a few weeks didn’t impose at that level.

In short, there is a major difference between now and then, and that doesn’t mean this was true all along. What’s true now wasn’t true then.

They are murderers, plain and simple. You’re right I know 2, forgot about 1. I also know of an older gentleman who attended one based on the advice of the Rav quoting some mekubal that tefillah betzibur could never harm him and it would protect him against COVID. He left his house for nothing else, getting everything else delivered. Well, what do you know.. he was niftar last week. PM me if you want his and the Rav’s name.
