You have to remember that early on the concept of masks and social distancing was not explored.

Even I was a little behind it wasn't until the day after Purim that I was starting to see that. Up to then it was a precaution measure. That was my first Shabbat home alone, this will he #11 I believe

If you explore these pages you will see that the original concerns have to do with sanitizing surfaces etc.

Backyard minyanim are now officially permitted in our community.
Ummm.... it’s been like that since Pesach...

Ummm.. it's still not allowed. It's allowed since day one. Each place to it's own.

Sounds like multiple shuls in Lakewood contemplating opening in some shape or form imminently.

Been hearing reports of Yeshivas in NY that opened over a week ago.

I won’t go down that journey with you. All I’ll say is, this thread is about coronavirus and your Shul, so I am responding to a post about a Shul in a thread about shuls with a question about said Shul

Full disclosure: I haven't attended Minyanim since March 14th. with that being said, I am trying to understand the passion and borderline hate pulsating in this thread specifically about Shuls.

Who argued for lifting restrictions? Who argued against? I am asking what measures the Shul took. Your answer, that we needn’t be as careful as earlier, seemed to be based on an assumption that it is safer now than it was. I questioned what you are relying on for that information. Many people also assumed it was safe earlier because it’s like the flu, but that argument turned to dirt pretty quickly. I think.

I’m not saying it’s not, I was just asking for what reason we are assuming it is. A simple “they’re only allowing people with antibodies” would suffice.

This was a continuation to my post in trying to pinpoint the distinction being made between shuls and every other aspect of life.
Why not presume that the people attending Shuls are taking the same precautionary measures as grocery stores and the like, and that people are making the same risk calculations when going to Shul as they are making when leaving their house for any other reason???

This usually the time that the Lakewood rabbanim usually drop a new minyan psak. Let's see if we get anything new this week.

Because you don’t need to go to the grocery store at the same time as at least 10 other people 3 times a day? Because perhaps grocery stores shouldn’t be open? Open a thread called “coronavirus and your grocery store” and find out what people’s opinions are.

For some reason (aka eyewitness reports) I don't think that the people who had been attending shul all this time have been keeping the full 6ft at all times, including during Krias HaToirah, and wearing masks.

Yeah. Not so thrilled about it.

I am sure those that don't want to go to grocery stores, the bakery, and the cleaners aren't, and the same holds true for Shuls.
The question is if they are exactly the same why don't we have a thread already, with the same detestation?
Maybe you should open a thread called, "let us lock down indefinitely" and find out what people's opinions are.

When you have a ton of rules, some of which make less sense than others, you run the risk of having them all flying out the window.

They aren't the same. How often do you go to the grocery store?

Keep an eye on NYS and CA.
We are about to have hundreds of "Texas hair salon" cases, if they keep it up.
