Shuls closed before the government required it. The attitude changed significantly in the 3 days from when schools closed until shuls closed.

Another great pic from the beach in Belmar this weekend of the crowd lining up for over three hours elbow to elbow to buy beach badges. Murphy was asked about the crowd in Belmar and he said he thought it was safe. Think we can do outdoor minyanim for 3 hours on shabbos with that kind of crowd without NJSP dishing out summonses? Right.

Here’s an idea. How about if Lakewood sets up a “beach” all along the shores of Lake Carasaljo Shavuos night? (They can close off South Lake Drive for more room.)Thousands of “beachgoers”  can set up shtenders and seforim and have a massive maamad kabolas hatorah! Just need the weather to cooperate and a lot of light towers from Chaveirim. Then the thousands of beachgoers can daven in their places come Alos, with perhaps a birchas kohanim that would rival the Kosel....

I agree with the concept, but passing exposure is nothing close to prolonged exposure. You can easily be more exposed to someone in shul/bais medrash much more than a family member over an entire week.

People were reporting a 3 hour wait on line which was slowly crawling along. That’s a lot more than passing exposure. I agree that that doesn’t compare to indoors but outdoor large minyanim should be equally acceptable to the powers that be.

We need someone to donate the coffee and a whole lot of Porta johns! I think I know a guy who can be chazzan. He will have no problem being heard across the length and breadth of the lake!

I didn't hear the whole thing, but this part got me, (paraphrased) "I'm going to speak the truth no matter what they say or do to me. I don't care if they kill me, yes, they might kill me, I'm still going to speak the truth." The "they" in question? Community pediatricians.
