How can you compare a time when a vast majority wasn't yet exposed and there was no chance of "herd immunity" to a time when the vast majority has been exposed?

The bottom line is that the doctor that has everyone's ear in the community, and is an extremely cautious doctor, is of the opinion that it's time to reopen. That 70% or more have experienced symptoms (I am adding that the vast majority have been exposed).

They learned many new things that make doing outdoor minyanim in a safe way possible. Indoor minyanim could only possibly be safe if extreme precautions are taken, which, for the most part, they clearly aren't.

Who said they were exposed to a super-spreader?

Articles like this make me nervous about shuls reopening:

It certainly rings true that most people aren't spreading COVID19, hence why 1 person in a family has antibodies.
But it'll just take one super-spreader event to take down an entire community.

If you go to the most extreme measures, it will end up backfiring. Keeping extreme restrictions in place, when it doesn't seem to make any sense to the masses, will backfire in a way that all restrictions will be ignored. Allowing sensible reopening, shul crowd control (someone mentioned fire regulations - use a similar measure and put a "COVID-19 Marshal" in charge), making hand sanitizers, tissues, papertowels and even face shields readily available, will go much further than across the board bans!
