Yes, I've heard of calls to Hatzola in Lakewood and BP. You guys are living in an alternative reality.
Until it is screamed from the rooftops with levayos they won't believe it just like purim time.

"Nah, what are you talking about!? Everyone says it's over for weeks already. This shul was open all along and no one died in that shul".

True statement from a Mashgiach in a Yeshiva who decided to open. Hashem Yishmor.

Just for some perspective:

So are saying it's just the flu?  :P
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

The way I look at it is, are these same Rabbanim meikil on most other things, or are they machmirim elsewhere? Explains if it's a kula or a chumra.
Keep on burying your head in the sand and bringing in politics. I'm sure the dead bodies will appreciate it.

Just for some perspective:
As you said for some perspective.... This does make a viscerally strong argument, and it serves as a good reminder to BE CAREFUL! But to be balanced, nobody can say for sure that SARS-2 will act like the Spanish flu and not like other outbreaks where there was no second wave. Ultimately no one knows for sure but He who knows all, and while He commands us to guard our lives exceedingly carefully, the Torah also allows for engaging in normative behavior despite the risks. Once again, reasonable people can and do disagree as to what the parameters and how to determine what that normative behavior includes.

We sure hope that it will be very different. But it should serve as a reminder that just because the number of cases has gone down, it is reckless to throw all caution to the wind.

I could not agree more with that entire statement. All I am saying is that we need to be a little balanced in our approach. Along those lines, this and the links therein are quite interesting FWIW:

That is not true. I've heard that Hatzolah in Lakewood is still transporting patients regularly with COVID symptoms. Obviously, and thankfully, not nearly as many as pre-Pesach, but there are still cases breaking out.

There was a span of several weeks where there were virtually no transports in Lakewood. Have not checked the last few days but have heard that it is still quiet....

Consistent with

2256. Another 17 positives since yesterday. Consistent rolling average of new daily #’s in the teens for around 2 weeks now in Lakewood .

If chas v'sholom there is even one death in your shul from this, are you willing to look the yesomim in the eyes and say, "But it was an acceptable risk?"
I've made this comparison before, if someone drives down the road and kills a individual with 10 kids are u willing to look the yesomim in the eye and say " but it was an acceptable risk"?

Even places like Crown Heights which shut down before the city mandated, on the whole were extremely careful about social distancing, and had clear unified guidance from rabbanim and doctors, have issued statements which are basically saying we're waiting on the state/city to open things up.

People are sick of the hypocrisy and nonsensical guidelines and so they're throwing everything out. It's dangerous and foolish, but who can blame them?
Me. I can and do blame them. What the bleep does Cuomo have to do with the way you live your life? He’s not your Rav, he’s not your doctor. Why would you act recklessly because you’re angry at a non Jewish politician???

I think it's the other way round at this point. Everyone agrees it's time to reopen. Because of regulations being unreasonably strict, people are disregarding ALL precautions.

As bad as Corona got us, there have not been any new cases in about 2 months. (this is not a hard scientific number, it's the anecdotal experience of the average frum NYer) So NY locked down two weeks late, and now they are reopening two months too late. Had the powers that be announced a planned and thought out reopening schedule, people would have gone along with it. But instead we have no announcements, no reopening and just mocking condescension from the governor and mayor.

Shuls as big as 770 and a class minyan in a basement have the same 10 person restriction. It's ludicrous. And meanwhile sports teams are allowed to restart playing as of today?

Why would anyone follow any rules? They are clearly being made by clueless idiots. Had Cuomo at with actual frum people to create safe reopening guidelines, people would have been davenning at socially distant minyanim safely. Instead we're having hundreds of maskless people fressing at kiddushim.

He's murdered 5000 seniors already, any second wave as a result is on him too.
What. Is. Your. Point? How is this a proper attitude towards life as a frum yid??

I don't think it's true. Definitely not regularly, possibly some.
Really? Any other Lakewooders here to confirm?
I heard otherwise for BP/CH/Willy and KJ.
Here’s another report... where exactly are you getting your “no new cases” information??

1. Ask local doctors about their caseloads before drawing conclusions from Hatzolah calls. People are more cognizant of Covid-19 now and will seek medical treatment before they get to a state of needing Hatzolah (as opposed to Purim-Pesach).

2. Lakewood Hatzolah is still getting respiratory distress calls (e.g. 5 on Thursday), as well as some possible Code 19 calls.
