Wow. State stopped enforcing school closures?

Honestly. I think it's time to defy!
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Honest question: why? Were you in close proximity to people that don't live in your household?
A mohel and a wedding for starters, but it had nothing to do with that.
Those are the rules that were set by the organizer.

That kind of thing doesn't fly in OOT suburbs. We prefer not to have the acrimonious relationship that Lakewood and Monsey have with its non-frum contingent. Even if it means Zoom for the remaining weeks.

The big question is the fall.

I wasn't thinking of your community when I wrote that. I was thinking of my community.

I was in Flatbush this past Shabbos. While my BIL's shul had the ability to have 2 separate minyanim, when there were enough people to split up, no one was interested.

Most were wearing masks (to various degrees on face covering - more on that separately). My BIL told me about one of the congregants that went ballistic and used the "R" word on another who dared stay distant without a mask on Shavuos. My impression was that most people wearing masks was purely due to למה תתראו.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Wow! When was the last Hatzalah call/hospitalization due to COVID in your community?Would also love to hear from folks in the nyc region...
@S209 plz respond
I’m still davening in backyards and by tents with no mask (as I’ve been doing since Pesach) if that’s what you wanted to know.

When was the last Hatzalah/hospitalization due to COVID before Purim?

Footnote: I was unfortunately in 2 hospitals on Friday and in both they told me that while they have seen the load lighten up tremendously they are still seeing new hospitalizations every day. Ambulance driver told me the same.

Far Rockaway 5 towns still has a ways to go apparently - all indoor shuls still require masks many shuls allow members only, no touching sefer Torah etc.

New York State is now allowing 35% occupancy in shuls but not nyc yet

But Just this morning actually I heard yeshiva darchei Torah is back to no masks and achiezer said no more masks but my Rav didn’t hear that from his doctor so we’ll see what happens.
From what I’ve seen it seems like outdoors no masks but indoors yes masks.

For those who have their cleaning help back already, they don't seem to care about conflating communities...

They didn’t specify, and I have no reason to think yes. I was in Kimball and Robert Wood Johnson. Unfortunately that answer was from the PICU at RWJ so that means they are actually seeing children hospitalized..

Anyone? I'm not aware of any indoor shuls in CLE that are open.
I wore a mask in my backyard minyan today.
update from Cleveland heights. Most shuls here opened from Shavuos. Indoors. Masks or face shields in use, full social distancing in the shul that I’ve attended. Still have backyard Minyanim as shuls have limits and since not everyone is going into every shul the minyan times don’t always work out.

Interesting, what are the limits?
Anything open on my side of town indoors? And why the chasm?

Interesting, what are the limits?
30 per shul max (per shift/per floor)
Smaller buildings have less
Masks and 6 feet
Each shul made their own decisions -this was Cleveland vaad so applied to UH/Beachwood as well. Above is what I’ve seen was basic policy that each shul came up with.

Anything open on my side of town indoors? And why the chasm?
dont know. Maybe Alexander. They have a tent but more than enough ppl for both indoors and outdoors.
My guess is that the average shul in UH/Beachwood is more congested than CH

ZC has been open since Shavous with a limit of 30 in the auditorium and 30 in the Gym which is 10% capacity.
ZAZ is also open with similar limits on capacity.
YIGC is in a tent near the Shul and so is KBT
Bais Avrohom is inside with capacity limits.

Do they have a lottery system or what are they doing to limit capacity?

Shavous they did a few minyanim with sign up required. Last Shabbos ZC just put first 30 in main room, next 30 in gym. Many are still davening in outdoor minyanim.

I can speak for BP, there’s not a single Yid wearing a mask, and not a single Shul that isn’t open without any restrictions!
You missed me and the other 100 people I saw and I took a walk shabbos
