A little strange that people were taking my post literally. Doable does not equal optimal, not preferred. This is Dan's favorite thing to harp on - cold is nothing if you bundle up properly.

Like I said, I snowmobiled for 13 hours in negative temps and strong winds across Svalbard glaciers. Not going to give people a pass here.
If you were cold then by definition you didn't have enough or the proper layers protecting you.

It’s a trade off. I’ll usually go without a coat unless the windchill is in the single digits or below. Do I get cold? Sure. But I prefer being a bit cold to the bulkiness of a coat or layers and the hassle of dealing with  coatrooms. Not everyone is going to layer up to the point that they will not be vulnerable to the cold. You can blame them for it. But it’s just a fact.

True. As I see it, it depends a lot on whether you are a city dweller or not. In the city you'll have to deal with your coat and layers a whole day. No car to shul, no car to grocery etc. While a suburbaner may hop in and out of his car the entire week and can easily deal with his coat on his Shabbos walk to shul and occasional brisk walk.

Couldn't agree with you more, Dan. There are flukes, and they're still studying my case as to why I got it so badly. Not to mention the fact that I'm still recovering....surgeries, therapies, doctors appointments....I've been home for more than 6 months and I'm nowhere near back to myself.
