I hope it's okay to open this thread for those at risk of getting stuck in Israel indefinitely, due to the travel restrictions imposed by Israel because of the corona virus.
Let this be the thread for people to post questions regarding changes etc.
I'll start with myself...
I have 3 reservations for myself, wife, and 4 kids, booked thru Chase UR, Amex Travel, and a travel agency. Scheduled to fly from TLV to EWR on UA 85, 3/12
With the possibility of United cancelling the Thursday flight, I'm wondering what my options are. I can't get stuck in Israel as it's a very busy season at work, (Accounting/Taxes...)
I see Turkish has availability for the tonight 1 AM flight with a 4 hour connection. Question is what will happen with my United reservation. What if the flight doesn't get cancelled, will I be able to get a refund as it was reasonable to assume it will be cancelled? I booked all tickets with chase sapphire points and card charges, except for 1 ticket booked with Amex points thru amex travel. Will CSR cover that cancellation?
Can i ask united to change my ticket to Turkish being they are in the same alliance? United CS wasn't helpful, as according to their current status, flight isn't cancelled yet. What's the best number to call at United?
