Incubation period doesn't mean he can't get tested accurately. It just means that someone with the virus might not show symptoms for up to 14 days (and for 1% of people, even longer than 14 days).

So if every single person would isolate for 14 days, theoretically, this would all be over? The UK model might not be so bad after all then.

Also isolate people that caught the virus for longer. Not sure how long but studies show that it can remain in the body for about 40 days. Which might make isolation imperfect if they may have had the virus and never got tested.

So why are infected people only required to isolate for 14 days? Shouldn't they be isolated until they get a negative testing then?

I don't believe so. Why do people isolate for 14 days? They can just take the test and if they are neg go on with life. I believe the test may not pick up within 14 days. But it may still be in development...

Because a) they have false negatives. Viral load is at its highest in the beginning so problem would be with the test, not the person b) they don’t have enough tests to retest c) they don’t have enough tests to test people with confirmed contact with patient, so they isolate for 14 days and wait to see if any symptoms

Not sure about everywhere else, but I know in Brooklyn, all the urgent care centers have tests and are conducting a huge number of them.

As far as I know, yes. Someone I know went yesterday to get tested and said there was a separate line for the people waiting to get tested for coronavirus.

having in contact with someone who had COVID 19, No flu like
symptoms... Just go about your life. Just protect yourself!!!
YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE TESTED!!! If you go to this places
that claims they can test you... Possibility you will be contaminated
and get Corona ( Covid 19)

Quite strong possibility if they have all patients waiting to get tested holes up in a separate room or line.
