2BM - 1 approved, 1 under review
« on: November 17, 2011, 03:11:16 PM »
Did my 1st 2BM yesterday for Sapphire Preferred and Freedom. Called for application status just now and was advised by the recording (paraphrasing):

"Your 1st application is under review. We will notify you in 7-10 days. Congratulations, your 2nd application has been approved. Your credit line is $8500." No mention of which was which.

Has anyone had a similar experience, that one was approved immediately and one was under review? Is this when I am supposed to get Recon involved, or do I wait to get an actual rejection letter?

FYI: I have 2 other Chase cards with a combined CL of $25K, and a score in the 770s. I also just pulled Experian and see only 1 pull for yesterday, so at least I have that.

If you didn't manage to get the AppID's after submitting (which somehow I doubt you did), you may want to wait for the rejection letter so you can call about the specific app that got denied*. If you call recon now, and give your SS# to find the AppIDs, the CSR will likely view the fact that you applied for two at the same time to your detriment. Also, its not uncommon to be approved for one (or more) during a 2/3BM.

*Obviously, if you can find out the AppIDs another way, go right ahead.

Had no idea about the app IDs. And here I thought I read enough on these forums to pull it to perfection - oh well.

Does "under review" usually mean denied?

if  you have a chase login then you should see the approved card in a couple of days

Even though I didn't link it to that user name during the application process?

Is that true for business cc's as well?
I have a business cc as a sole proprieter (ssn, no tax id) and it doesn't show up online with my other cc's.

As per my experience, a business card wouldn't post on your account (business or personal account) before actually activating the card.

You can call and have them combined but according to the csr I spoke to it will cause you to lose some functions on your account (like account transfers)

Your old username still has all the consumer cards if you need to access those features.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

oh I was under the impression that they would be combining it into one user name and shutting the other down. If I can combine them and still keep the old one open that would be great. Thanks!

when you pulled now your Experian doesn't it count as another pull?

When you pull it yourself it's called a soft pull which only you can see and doesn't count against you

Once per bureau per year when pulling directly from the bureau. When pulling via services that monitor it, such as CreditKarma and IdentityMonitor, you can pull as often as those platforms allow (including using more than one).

You're also entitled for a copy for every hard-pull (when you're rejected) from the bureau that was pulled, you must request it within 30 days or something.

creditkarma allows you to pull every day i believe. how did you infer from what asherO said that you can't?
