Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

BA Avios question(s)
« on: November 17, 2011, 04:59:09 PM »
When booking on AA, can I book both tiers of aa awards economy for the same price? Also, does anyone happen to know what the price is for biz LGA-YUL?

Also does the oilam think AA is gonna join Avios as part of their jv integration with ba and ib? I don't think so being the US ff programs are nbetter and they can't afford to be worth less

In total, what do you all think, is the value of ba miles more now as avios or less, for example would brokers pay more or less now for british miles?

Accts with <10 k were worthless, are now great for ny-yul/cle/yyz also mia-ny isn't too bad (7500). So dealers will buy small accts too

Spoke to a reliable broker  (bought $1,000,000 in miles this year) this AM. He said Avios has screwed the BA program in his opinion.

That's because brokers buy longhaul first class tickets and the program never was very good at that (thus their low value) and has now gotten even worse than that.

But for people who fly short-haul domestic, Avios is great and a nice diversification from other programs.

I told him the same thing (after you reading your rundown on DD). He agreed, but it hurt him because most of his clients fly from US and don't just stay in London.

I had been sitting on over 250k BA miles, and now I have around 30 short haul trips! (which I definitely will use!)

I am trying to book a first class ticket domestically. Since it is a 2 class cabin and less than 1000 miles it should price out as 15k miles each way. However it is charging me triple 22.5k miles each way as if it is a 3 class cabin. What are my options with this?

Thanks
