Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

I need to make a booking on AA with Avios.
There is a likely chance I might need to cancel.
I believe officially they charge $40 for cancellation.
However, I have seen some internet chatter that you just lose the $2.50.
Can anyone here confirm this ASAP?

[Sorry if this is discussed upthread. Until now, I never had much cause for following discussion this thread, and search didn't show me anything.]

$2.50 If its RT it would be $40. Note, you can only cancel before 24 hours of dept

NYC-YUL

To explain: Going TO Canada has a $2.50 fee.  Canada back to USA has about $50 in taxes on top of that.
Domestic, the fee is $2.50.  If you cancel more than 24 hours b/f the flight, you get back your miles and lose the fee.
So cancelling a Canada - USA round trip will actually cost the cancellation fee of $40.

Having an issue with booking with Avios. Flight is showing available on aa.com with milesaaver, but not on ba.com.

I called BA and they're not budging - just saying it's not available...

Is there a new policy in place? Any suggestions?

Flight? Route? Date?
Can I venture a guess that you are searching lga-xxx on aa and it's showing a flight jfk-xxx and then you search ba lga-xxx and it doesn't show up?

Not sure, but look at my screenshots above. Interesting when I called them they offered me flights that weren't available on AA sAAver.

Strange indeed. Other dates seem to be displaying fine, just your date is all blacked out despite there being tons of award space available

Searching DCA - YUL March 23 returning YUL- DCA March 25th
A direct flight shows available on aa.com (Saaver) and BA refuses to give it...

I have had this issue many times in the past. Flight was showing on AA.com at the Saver level, but wouldnt show up on BA.com. I tried calling in, but the agent i spoke to chidingly told me it wasnt available, even after I fed him the flight number. So, I tried something new. Since I know BA.com is ocassionally glitchy, I tried searching for the same date and route over and over, again and again, and eventually, the flight popped up. This trick has worked 100% of the time for me, although sometimes I have had to search 20-30 times for it to pull up. This trick has pulled up a flight as available even when calling in and the BA rep told me it wasnt available, as long as it showed as available on AA.com at the Saver level. Happy searching!  :)
