Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

Hey, I am trying to book a flight on AA using British avois. BA shows no availability, I called BA and they confined that there are no seats. I checked up AA website and they show a ton of available seats. Is it possible BA will only open up seats as it gets closer? Anyone have any experience with this?
Is it Saver on AA?

just tried to book with the "Avios & money'' option . that previously worked when your account was low in miles . with a account that has less than 4.5k avios in it , and says i'm missing miles to be able to book with the Avios & money option,
anyone r realized that-yet?  maybe its a new rule with BA?

Was still showing for me that option. As long as you have 60% of the miles required.

The reverse can be booked online. Doesn't help an avios holder, but is an indication that the relationship is there.
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

Does awards availability generally open up the closer you get to the flight?

YES!  I've found best availability 3-5 weeks before the flight date.  Also, the inventory changes constantly.  One day - nothing.  The next day - a whole day of flights.  The next day - nothing at all.

Do the constant changes only happen close to the flight date? Because i have been watching flight availability for a flight in February and it has remained the same for weeks

Usually within 4 weeks of a flight the availability can change every day, sometimes even twice a day. If its for February, i think its enough to check once every few days.
