Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

Hey Y'all

Looking to use some of my 50k Avios to go on our first wedding anniversary. We wanted either cancun or Aruba. 20k round trip PP for cancun and 24k to Aruba via MIA. We will be leaving from JFK. The problem is that I can't find flights for the way back. I read the DD post about Avios but aa.com is coming up empty. How can we find flights the most efficient way?
TIA

I said they should. Sometimes for whatever reason they don't appear. I don't think it's because "they only have access to certain amount of seats on every flight...". I usually find that the seats you are looking for disappear pretty soon after. Perhaps it is phantom space on AA's website?
also why is it 14,500 not 12,500?
What route?
Likely they were looking at a flight with a stopover 10,000 + 4,500

If I book a rewards flight for 4500 avios and $5 and I cancel, I will just lose the $5 and the points will be redeposited? Can someone confirm this?

correct. but it must be more than 24 hrs before flight.

If you want to cancel within 24 of booking you will get back your taxes, but you must call to cancel.  You can reach BA at 800-452-1201.
Flight cancellations and changes must be done more than 24 hours before the time of departure or else you will not get your Avios back.

What is the general rule regarding amount of Avios needed for j class? I see sometimes it's double than y sometimes it's triple or even four times the amount. Any method to the madness?
