PSA:

Came across this issue and found a fix a few days ago; and been hearing reports of other people stuck with the same problem so I figured I'd post

If you've tried using the Avios Calculator over the past few days, you've probably encountered this message:

No worries though, the calculator is still active at another URL:

Seems like it was pulled from the US site, but is still active on the GB site. So by simply switching your URL from http://www.britishairways.com/travel/avios-calculator/public/en_US to http://www.britishairways.com/travel/avios-calculator/public/en_GB you can still access the calculator.

Is the avios and ba.com site working now? Trying to book flights, getting this error message:

Just tried booking a flight that through the Singapore center on a flight that was available aasaver on aa.com but they kept telling me it's not available.
I decided not to listen and went onto BA, flight was available and booked it without any issue. What am I missing? I thought there are no flights showing? Is that not true? Is it only certain flights?

Recently booked a 4.5k tic on ba being flown on us airways. Not sure how the concept of credit crediting miles on a ticket to another airline works. What's my best option can someone explain what to do if there's anything to be done?

You don't earn miles while flying on a BA award ticket.

What's with this wording from BA? Has anything changed or is this old news?

Changes to reward flight prices with British Airways

We have introduced variable Avios pricing for reward flights depending on the time of the year, the cabin and zone. At busy peak times of the year we have a standard Avios price and for less busy, off-peak times fewer Avios are needed. Two thirds of the year is off-peak, including every Tuesday and Wednesday.

Taxes, fees and carrier charges must still be paid in full and the cost of these will not vary depending on if you are travelling during a busy or quieter travel period.
