Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

Just tried to book ORD-LGA with my UK based BA account. They wanted to charge me £14.50 in taxes and fees. (Originally it said £5, but when I hit 'continue', it went up to £14.50).

What's up with that??!!

(Also, a friend told me he just got charged $10 to transfer points from Amex MR to Delta. What's with that one??!!)

Always been the case when transferring MR to US based airlines. Its a federal tax.

Fee is $0.0006 per point (maximum fee of $99).

More info can be found here.

Wow, not really an avios issue, but props to BA for excellent customer service (a first!)

I'm flying this afternoon from EWR in first with my wife and baby. They called us repeatedly yesterday from EWR. I found out our flight was oversold and they were able to find a volunteer in F to move to a different flight so we could sit together. He gave me his name and told me to say hi at the airport, as well as the name of the person who will be checking us in.

Five of us will travel BOS-DUB via EI in August, all booked with BA Avios.

I have 4 of us booked on the 9pm flight and 1 of us on the 6pm. We can live with this separation, but would prefer to fly together if it can be done without additional cost.

Now, I see that there appears to be availability for 4 pax on the 6pm flight, at least based on the UA website.

I can call BA and ask them to change the 4 pax to the 6pm flight, but I know that they will want a change fee of $55 per person, which I'm not prepared to do.

Any advice on how to get them to make the change without the fee? (There does not appear to be award space available on the 9pm flight.)

Cancel and rebook. What are the cancellation fees. And you may lose the return that way, unless each leg booked separately.
