Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

Why is BA only showing morning flights?
It often does that for  me.  I used to think it  had to do with page size, but they will also do it when there are relatively few flights.
so I'd look on AA first, so I knew what I wanted. Sometimes I could narrow the search for the choice flight to show, sometimes I needed to call.

I feel like there is a more appropriate thread for this, but for now, this will go here: https://www.gridpoint.consulting/blog/the-economics-of-iag-loyalty

British Airways launches more ‘Avios only’ flights for late 2023 and Easter 2024
British Airways recently launched ‘Avios only’ flights, copying a successful Qantas initiative.

Selected flights in the schedule are withdrawn for cash sale with every single seat opened up for Avios redemption.

The second batch has now become available for booking.

Avios only flights launched by British Airways
There is a subtle change for this second round of ‘Avios only’ flights.

For the first batch, only OUTBOUND flights were ‘Avios only‘. There were no dedicated return flights, although BA told us that they had increased Avios availability over the following week to hopefully allow everyone to get back.

This time, there is a dedicated outbound flight and a dedicated inbound flight. YOU DON’T NEED TO BOOK BOTH but you shouldn’t have problems getting back on the dedicated return date even if all other flights that week have no Avios availability.

Full refund.
Is it a run around to cancel the Avios booking and to get your Avios back?
Stuck here at CLE with flight to EWR keep getting more and more delayed with every other flight to EWR today cancelled. Doesn’t look good. Trying to figure out if it’s worth booking a backup flight on AA to JFK with Avios. But if the EWR flight ends up going would have to cancel the JFK flight. Flying with family so it would be a lot of points.

It is now, though officially I was supposed to use the CC to book flight, which I didn't

Are you sure? I thought that with aa you don’t need to book it with the cc, your account automatically has the benefits.

lets hope so. I see T & C: For benefit to apply, the Citi® / AAdvantage® account must be open 7 days prior to air travel, and reservation must include the primary credit cardmember's American Airlines AAdvantage® number 7 days prior to air travel. If your credit card account is closed for any reason, these benefits will be cancelled.

I didn't apply account number 7 days in advance, I also don't have physical CC with me, hope not an issue

When booking BA award I can't add my account number from a partner airline to get oneworld status benefits?

The workaround for this would be to book as another traveler (not the account holder) and then just enter your name and DOB. After it’s booked you can add the loyalty number you want.

I just learned a much easier hack this weekend which works wonders, when booking your flight on BA.com, when you have the flier number box, just erase the BA number (could be you don’t have to but I did), then once you’re booked go to finnair website, type in your reservation details, and it easily lets you change, and it worked, my AA number was registered and found it on my account without having to look it up on aa.com

I'm talking about a British airlines operated flight booked with British airway points. So my BA number is automatically added. When I did a chat with them the rep said my AA number can't be added.

What if you try adding a middle initial so it doesn’t completely match your profile?

Makes no difference, my method takes 2 seconds, chatting with an agent takes a half hour and ends with nothing more than when you started…
