Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

-BA.com is not very effective at searching for connecting flights. You will often need to book a connecting flight on 2 separate tickets or you will need to call them to book it. Either way it will require the same amount of miles as they charge for each flight segment.

Also,  look for availability on aa.com

I assume that the airline is on the hook for a missed connection on a single ticket, but not if the two legs are booked as separate tickets. Is that a fair assumption?

Am I able to piece together on one ticket a flight on AB one arriving in DUS at 11:05 and another flight leaving to TLV 12:30 the next day? Would luggage automatically transfer?

If I cancel a BA ticket does it automatically show up availability for points online? (Basically want to switch name of passenger).

Not necessarily, unfortunately. You'd have to keep checking back and you may not get it.

Would they cancel and rebook over the phone for a different passenger?

Definitely worth a try. But I think they're under similar 'inventory' restrictions.
If it's the same last name, try for a 'name change'.
Bu beware to wait for the 'ticket number' email of the new passenger.

Anyone have tips on finding avios availability to somewhere warm over Presidents' Day weekend from Boston. I'm referring to Dans Boston avios post, but struggling with finding anything. Would love to sit on a beach for a couple days  8)
