Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

Just spoke with ba,they said that if I book a flight before the devaluation I can change the flight even after the devaluation without having to shell out more miles does this make sense

Should I be worried that they weren't redeposited yet?

If you book and AA flight with BA in J, can you change to Y if/when it becomes available without a fee and with getting the difference in miles refunded?

AFAIK you'll have to cancel and rebook and lose lesser of taxes paid or $55.

How long before the flight should I start searching for availability NYC-YYZ? now it doesn't show anything available looking at the beginning of Aug.

(Anecdote: Last year my son got engaged around this time .  Wedding in mid Aug in YUL.  I panicked when there were no BA seats and booked the choson and my father on united.  Over the engagement period, seats opened up in drips and drabs.  I booked my married daughter and her family, and 4 couples (sisters and sisters in law). I drove with the rest of the family.)

Advice: Relax.  Keep checking. Seats will open up over time.
When I book my (other) son back and forth to yeshiva in YYZ, I most often find something - even ( especially) in the last minute.  But availability changes in an instant - keep checking.

Look every day

Also, sometimes people hold award seats through AA.com. They allow a 5 day hold. So I would check everyday shortly after midnight because that is when their hold will be released if they didn't end up booking. Has worked for me a few times.

I tried this info last night as well and was pleasantly surprised at the availability.

Just switched BA FFN to AA FFN via Finnair website. Completely smooth process. Not sure why I've always had issues until this point, but not complaining.

any reason to book a one way for me and dw on separate bookings if we are getting to the airport at different times? Ie I will get to airport an hour b4 her to check luggage and get through security with baby. she doesn't need luggage checked just to walk through security. or if they are together will AA give me problems when I try and go through by myself.

If the luggage you are checking is only 'your' luggage, there is no problem at all.

If you are checking luggage for both of you, you may have an issue, no matter how the tickets are booked.

What awards did you all book before the devaluation?
