Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

Just confirming still current...

If I book YVR-JFK on Cathay I have 24 hours to cancel w/o penalty. And after 24hour there is a change fee of $55 or better off re-depositing if taxes are less?

TY

If you're booking through BA, that is correct.

Just sat on hold for 1 hour on the phone with British to try my luck to see if there is availability on YVR-JFK economy because online only shows premium, and the agent was so rude and positively informing that's its illegal for him to book that route because Cathay must stop in HKG.....

did you select first/business when searching? It should show economy if you search for economy.

Economy is not showing online as available, only premium economy. He wants the rep to "magically" create economy availability for his group.

Expert Flyer alerted me that two seats became available on an upcoming EI flight that I want to book with Avios. But the BA agent says she can't see anything available.  Does that mean that they are available for EI award program (does it even exist now?) and not for Avios? Or maybe I should HUCA?

Call the Singapore office, better staff, shorter wait time.
PS you should be able to convert your avios to gold circle and possibly book that way

Great suggestions. I guess I can do it when I get back from shul tonight. Thanks.

ETA; Actually EF does not show any award availability. Plus, are you sure you can transfer Avios to EI? I don't think the new EI program is set up for they yet. Please CMIIW.

Gold circle is turning into Aerclub, and when that happens you can convert avios. The process was supposed to be completed by now, bit is delayed. (which is why I misspoke)

Got it. Yes. Too bad it is delayed.  We leave tonight. Hoping the ticketing agent might take pity on us but I realize they may be sticklers for the rules. Thanks.

When does Avios expire, a bit confusing?!!

1) Membership year ends:
    08 Dec 2016

Or

2) Card expiry date:
    31 Jan 2017

What is the cheapest or Free'ist way to keep Avios alive?

Doesn't using the BA cc, thereby earning avios, keep all the avios alive?

Yes that keeps all your avios alive ,as long as your a card member! (All you really need is 1 avio added or deducted to keep your avios alive! The minimum transfer is 250, if you have a way to just add or deduct one then 250 wouldn't be needed, so as long as your a card member your avios stay alive!
