Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.


NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

I'm short of some BA Avios, and I need to book a flight ASAP.  Here are my options to obtain those Avios; I can either convert or trade one of the currencies that I own below.  Which in your (DDFer's) opinion is the most lucrative (cheapest) value?  What's my best option?  TIA!

Chase UR 1:1

SPG 1:1  (not transferring 20:25)

Marriott: 30,000 Rewards Points into 10,000 Avios

Hilton: 10,000 HHonors Points = 1,000 Avios.

Priority Club (IHG): 10,000 Priority Club points = 2,000 Avios.

Delta: trade (negot.)

US Airways: trade  (negot.)

Just to follow up, for anyone interested in doing this in the future (not because it's an optimal usage of points, but rather due to falling short on airline miles when in need). 

Winded up using Marriott points.  They said it would take 3 business days; it took 2 days, one of them being Sunday.

Yesterday I had to HUCA like 8 times.
Most of their Reps. are simply incompetent and rude. They do have some really kind ones though.

Don't think I ever came across an incompetent BA USA rep. Happens on the DXB-LHR flight and others. No problem by phone.

Ok, ok.  I'll agree there are a lot worse out there, but still don't hold a candle to the Continental desk.
This was my scenario yesterday; I wanted to book an intnl flight which includes a connection.  Problem was that on the website it would only show availability when I searched the two segments separately, but not as one itinerary = higher fees, a common BA issue.
When I called, they told me they can't marry the two segments... Don't you call that incompetent??!
She's gonna tell me about a route that I've flown so many times, and that is available on many other dates, that they can't marry the segments?!
One after another, very rude (mostly females).
That's why I had to HUCA about 8 times.
Maybe it was only the Sunday crew, who knows.
FTR, I've been booking with BA ever since I started churning, as they were one of my first CC.
