Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

Do BA companion passes only work when flying BA?

Correct.

I have been checking BA daily to see if any flights open for a specific day. Is there any way to automate this? Any website or anything that will alert me in the event of an opening?

Are Avios good "points to have"?
Meaning: If I have a choice to earn $30,000 worth of points a year-either UR, SPG or Avios as my primary points, which is best? (Taking into account the companion pass etc.)

If you travel a lot short haul domestic on AA then perhaps. Otherwise I'd go with SPG.

No question UR or SPG - depending which one you value more - as you have the freedom to transfer them any time to BA, but you can also use the points for other airlines.

Big minus of SPG: IIRC PCMIIW some transfers can take a few days.

Ah, my bad. I totally blanked that UR transfer to BA. On the other hand isnt there a bonus for spending a certain amount yearly on the BA card?

If you spend 30k/year you get a companion certificate which is (almost) worthless.

Depends for who.

I would say for most people, as for the heavy surcharges they add, and it's only on BA metal.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but I just noticed that taxes for redemption to Toronto is just on the way back. On the way there it's just $5 8) Almost positive last time I checked it was split in half.

I am having trouble on the british airways site.the only way I know to check off "use Avios" is to login. when I do and check "use avios" something happens and it doesnt recognize it and later tells me that British Airways doesn't fly that route. Is there another way to get the screen that says use Avios? ( the regular flight screen doesnt give that option)Ive tried logging out and relogging back in and it still doesnt work.

Is the refund bug (i.e. only lose taxes/ but no cancellation fee) still working?
