Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

I booked the wrong date for my son's flight home from Toronto.  The date has passed and now I see the mistake.
What are my options?  Can I get anything back?

How to book with avios?
« Reply #841 on: September 16, 2013, 01:25:57 AM »
I need advice. I am looking to go to seattle for sukkos, I have amex points I would like to use, I was told I should transfer them to avios, how do I go about redeeming them? I checked the AA site and they have availability, I checked with Alaska air and they have availability as well, but when I check on Ba.com It says they don't fly those routes, any advice on how I can work this out?

There is a thread dedicated specifically for this issue.

You need to check the box that says "show partner airlines"  or something like that

Checkout the links in the wiki.

For your issue you may need to search a few days out,  and then work your way over to your dates.

Did you read the thread? Did you check out the links in the wiki? Did you read about picking a different date and then working your way backwards?

I checked out the thread...... tried Many other dates, it gives an error message "british airways and its partners do not fly this route". I checked aa.com and they have the saaver option available for 12.5 k as well as alaska air.

I read the link.. it is not a connecting flight. Would the fact that I just signed up for avios and havent transfered any points yet be the problem?

another thing I noticed, I think AA uses Alaska air for its flight, could that have to do with it? even though I'm pretty sure BA is connected with Alaska as well.

1. AS doesn't show up on ba.com-need to call in.
2. You need to do an award search-spending avios- not a regular search. If you get "ba and its partners don't fly that route" or something to that effect, you did a revenue search.

3. Mods, please merge this thread.

Points are gone. However, you should be able to recoup the taxes. PUTPAC

Booked someone LGA-DTW round trip. They now want me to change the return to a different day. What is the best way to go about it, cancel/rebook or change? Thanks!

If the flights are available now you can just cancel and book the new flights. Cost to cancel thy flight should be $2.50 per segment.
