Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.


NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

Why don't you first find the flight you are looking for on either and whichever offers the lowest miles do the transfer then? No need to lock yourself into either one before you are ready to book.

I know I can change the FFN on a ticket booked with Avios to an Aadvantage number to get the benefits if that Aadvantage account has benefits such as a free bag, but will I get the benefits if its not my Aadvantage account (its a friend's account who has a Citi AA card). If I do get the benefits such as a free bag, how would I know?

Never realized AA had a HPN-ORD direct flight. My family in Monsey were pretty excited by this find. Another great option with avios.

I had booked a ticket on AA using Avios back in June for April of 2014. A long time b4 but I had great availability and went for it. I wasn't sure if I would need to cancel but it was worth the 80 dollars on 2 tickets in the worst case (the taxes were about 60 each).

Now I got lucky as both flights changed, not the times but the flight numbers. When I logged in it allowed me to cancel without penalty or to accept the changes. I logged out without choosing either. I thought it was strange that they would allow me to cancel without penalty if the only difference is a flight number but hey I'll take the extended free cancellation!

Just thought I would share...

I dont think you can because aa won't allow you to add that number they will recognize it as not yours.

I am quite pleased to say that my card signup bonus was 50K for 1K in spending, an additional 25K with 10K spending and a third 25K avios for a second 10K in spending.   I spent the required 20K and got the 100K avios!  Then, to top it all off, I spent an additional 10K to reach the 30K spending in one year that earns me a companion pass!  Unfortunately the BA companion pass is almost worth less, but I feel good I reached the goal.
did you not have any other good cards to spent the last 10k?

Actually I had no new cards for bonus spending.  Most of the 10 K was manufactured spending, so I didn't feel like Iwas losing anything by using the BA.

Urgent Q. I'd like to cancel a flight I booked through BA with AA for this thursday and rebook for wednesday instead. Are the miles refunded instantly? I'm waiting for a transfer to go thru from SPG, so don't have extra ones available right now.
