I booked a flight for someone within the US on AA with BA miles, and they got a free bag.

See if you can get them to separate the reservation. Get those 2 on a separate confirmation #. Then cancel those 2 on line.

What would that help? It's probably a YYZ/YUL-NYC etc... ticket and it's $40 to cancel.

just got off the phone with them after waiting 45 min and that's exactly what i did it was a HUCA , thanks

but usally i do fly yyz - nyc and never had a problem before

That would be $40 regardless, I dont see where making it for a separete reservation would help... Unless you're in the 24 hours of booking, you don't have to separate the reservation.

I was of the understanding that when canceling on line, you only lose the taxes. domestic $2.50 (going TO Canada $2.50). so if the reservations are separate he can cancel the whole thing. I though the problem was that it wouldn't cancel only some of the pax on the confirmation.

If calling doesn't work. A page or 2 ago someone was seeing a USairways flight on the AA site, but those don't show up on BA and can't be booked with avios until (after) march 31
