Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

Yes, give a try, cant lose anything. I haven't thought about this trick. is this officially a way out? Or he got a clueless rep. that agreed to change? Did they charge you change fees?

i called rep told me no way to cancel bec its in the 24 hours of departure, thought about this trick so i asked if its possible to change for a latter day,
she came back saying that she was able to change of course for  no fee because its in the 24 hours of booking,
i didn't  have the chutzpa to ask her to try now to cancel  ;)
so i HUCA and currently waiting on the phone.
before the change i wasn't able to cancel online neither change ,after the change i can change online but still not cancel

+1
Kind of annoyed a rep never mentioned this before when I've tried to cancel within 24 hours

Household accounts you used to be able to book for someone using main householder account, has this changed??? Can you only book from  individual accounts?

Try BA.  Check to see if there are award flights available for the time you want. beg.
What's the stand-by rule if he just misses his flight and goes for the  later one?

usually if there's space available they''ll let him up with no issue ,
have experienced that many times

Then, avrumy, check availability on the flight as a whole.  I assume if there's still award seats there would be plenty of available standby seats.
Good luck.

what's the best way to use the companion pass for reaching 30k spend on BA card (and avoid paying the hefty fees)? the rules say you have to travel british airways and not a partner. I was hoping I could avoid LHR and their extra taxes; I thought they flew lhr-lax-sydney but I guess I was wrong. I was hoping i could catch the LAX-SYD leg or something

yeah that's all I could find. Any suggestions on using the companion pass or is it basically worthless? It's a pretty terrible award if you have to use points for one fare, and pay taxes/fees on both tickets, considering their taxes on biz seats can push 1000 alone.
