Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

Did BA award cancelation fee go up?!
I just canceled a ticket booked with Avios and it says "$55 cancelation fee". It was always $50 AFAIK.

I'm looking for a specific flight every day for the past month and there's no availability, do I still have a chance they'll open some seats (I'm up to two weeks from departure)?

Wanna know because the cash price started to go up to crazy prices  :-[

Check fare classes using EF and you can make an educated guess.

The seats with a "X" but seat maps don't show fare classes, you need to look at fare class not seat map

I know that blocked refers to the seat with an X, just wanna know what a blocked is, for VIPs (people with 10k posts)?

Do I need a premium account to look up fares? I can't find it on the home page.

NYC-YYZ yesterday. only 3 seats available on the 10:20. Book rest of my family on the 10:20 and myself on the 9 AM. Showed up to the airport a few minutes after 9 (we were checking luggage-gotta love flying business, we checked 7 bags, some of them 70 lbs). Kiosk didn't pull up my reservation as the flight had already departed (if I had been a few minutes earlier the kiosk would have been able to put me on the next flight...). Went to the check in desk. Put me standby on the 10:20 no questions asked. No seats in business so I sat in economy.

Lesson learned: if you don't have enough seats on the flight you need just book the previous flight. No need to lie and invoke the "flat tire rule."
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.
