It this is capitalism then it is worse than socialism.

If there are needed items sitting in some hick town it does no good to anyone. What will get people to gather them to be available where needed? That does not need to mean gouging but profiting should be okay.

Nothing wrong with a profit but is that what this is? Most states have gouging laws.

Most economists say that price gouging laws prolong shortages, and I think that having these laws while they might feel good, are immoral. I can buy masks now from China for $2-3. If I sell them for $8-10 that sounds disgusting. But if the shortage ends I’m stuck with a bunch of overpriced masks, and the reward has to match the risk otherwise I’m not buying. And hence the shortage continues.

If anyone has N-95 and surgical masks they are willing to donate, I know of hospitals and nursing homes in need. Just a thought before selling for a profit, remember that first responders are being told to reuse PPE bc of the shortages from people hoarding essential supplies.
