Two of my kids went to the doctor last week and had COVID-19 tests as well as throat cultures.  Both said that the throat culture was way worse.  I found that rather interesting.  For those that tested in March/April and again recently, has the swabbing gotten more tolerable?
Most likely because the person doing the throat swab just did it unnecessarily aggressive. I got both a few months ago as well as recently, the nasal swab is definitely worse. I felt it in my nose for a good half hour, maybe even longer.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Got the nasal swab test done today (PCR test) and the nurse insisted she had to poke both nostrils. She made sure to collect some brains cells as well.

You must have not been givin the tracking chip yet. They have been installing it on the brain via the nose to all people who did not receive it previously.

It’s also dependent on who did the nasal swab. At the NP I’ve used, you barely feel it.

Depends on the test. When I go to CVS to get tested, instructions say to do both (lab is Quest). The BD rapid that we offer to our employees are also supposed to be done in both nostrils. Although not nearly as deep.

Got tested in October, the throat culture was definitely far more uncomfortable. They did both nostrils but barely felt it.

I am traveling to the Maldives in a few weeks and they required a negative PCR test within 96 hours from departure from the US. Is the Abbott ID Now a PCR test (are all molecular tests PCR)? Does anyone have experience with other places that can guarentee PCR test results within 96 hours (preferably in North Jersey or Rockland County)?

IME places don't like to guarantee less than 5 days JIC, even if their typical turnover is 2-3 days. What you really want to ask on the phone is for their typical turnaround. (unless your really scared of their "just in case")

I think (all) PCRs are molecular but not all molecular tests are PCR.

I missed that... Regardless, seems like someone has a lot of extra $$$

Yeah, don’t be surprised when a first class stamp is $1 in 2023 to subsidize COVID tests that were distributed in 2022
