Instead of social separation and doing things that will actually help, people are stocking up on food. I can't blame anyone, the guidance has been sorely lacking.

Honestly, I told DW this morning that we should get our chicken and potatoes for Pesach ASAP, as the ability to shop in the future is unknown.

I am curious @yuneeq at what point do you say you were wrong for all the panic? If Lakewood continues the way it is and there is no spike in cases and it stays low for the next week is that indicative? 2 weeks? At what point?

Bnei Berak is continuing yeshiva learning as usual. They have seen zero cases. Which is weird considering how close everyone is.

Was it a child? They are not allowing any children to test as they will always come out positive.

This isn't about being right or wrong. It is following the advice of the experts. So far they seem spot on. I personally feel they are holding back as not to scare/panic all of us.

Complete disaster waiting to happen

Mine too. I davened outside the shul 15 feet from the open door and heard kriays hatorah through the window. Our shteibel (in Boro Park) was packed to the gills for an aufruf  for a chosson who already had a family aufruf last week at a hotel to accommodate his elderly grandparents. The caterer had a kiddush scheduled in the 5 towns that was cancelled friday at 1pm and said he was not really sure why the Rabbi was allowing this aufruf to go forward and the kiddush to happen. He was afraid of the liability towards his employees.

Our Rabbi is head in the sand. He doesnt have a radio, television, internet access etc. Instead of expediting davening he took his time and sent a chazzan up for kabalas shabbos.

Absolute unmitigated disaster waiting to unfold. We had several immuno-compromised older people in shul and one middle-aged guy in a wheel chair after a stroke who came into shul friday night and was hacking away with a runny nose and shabbos morning came back with a mask...around his chin. I feel like I am surrounded by the most irresponsible people.
