My opinion- if you’re gonna do it in 2-3 weeks then do it now & save some lives. If not, not.

I vehemently disagree with this, anyone making such comments is completely clueless about all the side effects of such a drastic measure. Whether or not it should be done is a good question, but to just say what the heck, let's add a few more weeks to it is just asinine.

The ISraeli Rules seem to be working. Why not impose them here? The Hospital system will crash for sure if we dont do something.

How about quarantine of anyone over 60 or 70 and immunocompromised etc and everyone else do their thing?

Reach herd immunity as quickly as possible and then let them out.

Would very possibly save the most lives.

Because starting 2 weeks earlier = adding 2 more weeks.

I try not to get involved in those discussions because I am still unsure of where this will go, I'm sure it's worse than the flu, but I'm not sure it's as bad as many believe. I think many are in full panic mode, and what is actually the worst case scenario in their mind is the best case scenario. If it helps, I have people telling me I'm taking this too seriously as well as people telling me I'm not taking it serious enough. I find myself arguing both sides of the same argument with different people who take one side to the extreme.

2) I still don't understand why Italy is the only country to have such a terrible breakdown of their healthcare system, why aren't there many other countries that look like that too.


While social distancing is certainly a good idea, IMO before we start with extreme measures like a nationwide lockdown we should look at what's working in other countries like SK and now Germany. I also believe we should focus more on increasing the capacity of our healthcare system, I heard this morning that Cuomo is requesting assistance from the Army Corps of Engineers & the military for this.

I don't see that Germany is working. Where are you getting such data from?

Just looking at the numbers, they have over 7k cases and 15 deaths. They may not be the best example because Germany is much bigger than Italy, but Switzerland has the most cases per capita after Italy, and their death rate is under 1%

We can pick and choose our numbers but to be fair when combine all the data what is the death rate?
