What are the odds Canada will be open to (vaccinated) Americans this summer, whether by air or land? YVR in particular, if western Canada will be different than eastern for any reason. Any rumors or talk or reopening?

I would say there's no chance. At the moment, Canada refuses even to discuss a plan for the eventual easing of restrictions. The question is whether anything will change in 2021.

The answer is NO, you do not need a test entering the USA from Canada by land.

Furthermore in the case you do have a test from Canada within 72 hours of your return from the USA to canada via land you CANNOT use that test, health canada specifically mandates the test be made IN THE USA

Sorry my mistake, I read that wrong. From Canada to USA a test isn't required.
