Rightfully so. With Delta spreading rapidly in the US, and Canada having done much better than the US at mitigating COVID (admittedly at a heavy cost), they should keep things tight.
You live in Canada?

My location (to the right of each of my posts) shows NYC. What makes you think I’m Canadian?

You were very generous and understanding they Canada should keep things tight. While we all suffer from it.

https://www.680news.com/2021/07/09/step-3-ontario-reopening-gyms-indoor-dining/

Quote
Ontario will enter Step 3 of the province’s economic reopening plan ahead of schedule on July 16 which will see indoor dining resume and allow for gyms and movie theatres to reopen.

There will be no capacity or table limits for indoor dining when the move is made – but social distancing rules will remain in place and masks will remain mandatory.

Outdoor social gatherings and organized public events with up to 100 people will be allowed as well as indoor social gatherings and organized public events with up to 25 people.

...

Gyms, movie theatres, museums and zoos would all be allowed to operate at a 50 per cent capacity.

Outdoor non-seated events of up to 5,000 people will be allowed. Outdoor seated events will have a capacity of 15,000 people.

Indoor events will be allowed at 50 per cent capacity with a limit of 1,000 people. Nightclubs could operate at a capacity of 250 people or 25 per cent.

There will be no restrictions on retail or personal care as long as social distancing is in place.

She can travel with you at some border crossings. I am not a US citizen but have driven in with my wife (who is) via the Peace Bridge a couple times. They wanted to see our marriage certificate each time but boruch more.

It used to work by Vermont crossing but not any more. Your route is 6 hours off route 😥

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Thursday Canada could start allowing fully vaccinated Americans into Canada as of mid-August for non-essential travel and should be in a position to welcome fully vaccinated travelers from all countries by early September.

Trudeau noted that if Canada’s current positive path of vaccination rate and public health conditions continue the border can open.

Canada began easing its restrictions earlier this month, allowing fully vaccinated Canadians or permanent legal residents to return Canada without quarantining. But among the requirements are a negative test for the virus before returning, and another once they get back.

So right after summer vacation is over we can go to Niagara?

Technically yes, but as of now even Canadians need a pre-entry PCR and a test upon entry (and officially a quarantine until you get the results of that test), so I assume Americans will need the those to.

Seems like a lot to do for a Niagara trip.

I'll be surprised if this isn't reversed, as the cases are rising in the US.

Anyone go to Canada recently without vaccinations. How fast did they start checking up on you etc.? Anyone go for a weekend especially this past week when I assume they have more people available to do the checkups due to vaccinated travelers not requiring any quarantine..

I know of a few people (unvaccinated) who went the past few days into Canada, and they didn't have any issues.

Checkups, seems like they are running the same system as before. One checkup, usually 8 days in.
