You accused me of spreading false rumors. I may have been off on respirators (please back up your claims on 2k availability)  but I was 💯 on target about ICU capacity.

The official numbers of infected is a joke.. to say otherwise is like telling me the sky is pink..

Every day cases are growing by many leaps and bounds .. Do you feel to understand the mathematics behind that??

If 100 people were diagnosed today and I would say it's probably more like a thousand then tomorrow there's going to be 500 or 5000
In Italy its ~13% increase day over day. There will not be enough vents. Its a foregone conclusion. The way people are acting in Brooklyn we will be ground zero for sure. Zero social responsibility.

You accused me of spreading false rumors. I may have been off on respirators (please back up your claims on 2k availability)  but I was 💯 on target about ICU capacity. You're still making the same claim without any source or credentials to back it up while pointing fingers at me for daring to ask for some concrete proof of the claims you're making. If we were really 3 days away from running out of ventilators you would hear a lot more about it.
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/17/nyregion/ny-coronavirus-ventilators.html I misread the article, but the state does have an undisclosed number of ventilators which is estimated to leave 2,000 available.

The official numbers of infected is a joke.. to say otherwise is like telling me the sky is pink.. We don't know the real number of infected, but we should be really close to target about the number of hospitalizations because those are the first people to be tested.

Every day cases are growing by many leaps and bounds .. Do you feel to understand the mathematics behind that??

I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

We’re there already.

This is a responsible thing to say, to say we will run out in 3 days when it's false is irresponsible.

Avromie7, I can’t speak for Lakewood, but in BP, CH, & probably Williamsburg the numbers are exploding as we speak.

I dont have the number of days but it cant be more than 7 from what I'm hearing and 3 may be closer to reality but I dont have any source other than experience and what I'm hearing from my daughter off the nursing chats.

This wouldn't work for Brooklyn, but for out of town communities what about weekday minyanim in parking lots, where everyone besides maybe the chazan, stays in their cars to daven.
That should not create a minyan. Once there is a minyan the remainder can stay in their cars.
Feelings don't care about your facts

That is definitely cause for alarm, it is not reason to make things up. That's all I'm getting at here. Let the facts speak for themselves, there's no reason to exaggerate them.

I am currently in contact with 12 doctors.. one of whom says ;

"Don’t have this data
Generally we are opaerating at or near capacity without factoring in the virus"

This is an emergency room doctor here

Why am I irresponsible? You make it sound like we should do business as usual because hey we got 2000 respirators!!

Do they have urgent care physicians in storage too ?

Yes, I stated the facts repeatedly.. it's been warned of for weeks.. the US healthcare system cannot handle this!!

You talk about facts like as if the numbers are accurate.

You completely ignore the nature of this virus, lack of symptom's for some time etc

You're also of the opinion that everything should be up & running as usual.

There is no reason to play then down as you have done constantly. You being wrong will cost lives. Others being wrong will cause other problems but not lives!!!
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

If you had sources for everything you said, we wouldn't be having this discussion, but instead you're talking out of your *ss and saying because the numbers are not accurate lets take the worst case scenario, exaggerate it, and make it sound like we're talking about the best case scenario.

@chevron, ultimately you have to do what you have to do. HaShem gave you schechel for a reason, use it.

I told my rabbi before Purim that he won't be seeing me in person for a while. We asked him to shut down Purim celebration already. He responded that that there is no need for it, he spoke to one doctor who said that he can go ahead with Yom Tov and Shabbos as long as he speaks about the importance of washing hands.
A week later he was forced to close the shul and all (most) shuls are closed now in the neighborhood.

Exaggeration causes people to lose trust in anything that's said, people not taking it seriously because people are making up numbers will cost lives.

Spin it any way you want but from the beginning you have down played this crisis.

Actually the worse case scenario is probably the best case scenario.

I didn't make up numbers, I showed you NY times data .

I showed you historical patterns such as in Italy

So the frum world is better than Italians?

I'm showing you how we were warned how everybody ignored it and now I'm showing you how it's playing out how cases are being that you can always daily and the percentages are jumping hugely.

In crown heights 10 people were on respirators when the article hit..

Oooh we have 2000!! No worries, go to a wedding!
