הימים שלפני ימות המשיח נקראים חבלי משיח (או "עקבתא דמשיחא" - עקבי משיח) ומתוארים בדרך כלל כימי פורענות וצרות קשות.

   We're literally living in the times of mashiach, who can ever imagine the entire world would be upside down and every yeshivah and shul would have to close?
   We got to just continue to daven and learn strong untill we will be זוכה to the full ישועה of משיח צדקינו.

  Noone could ever imagine that the world can come to such a point like we are now..

In addition to studying two halachos of Shemiras Halashon every day, wouldn't it be amazing if we all accept to only post positive and non-Lashon Hara posts. It's very easy to use these forums as a way to vent at .... Maybe we should try not to , at least for the duration of the epidemic.

There really isn't. While there is an increased demand due to the panic and the supply chain is having trouble keeping up, there is no reason to believe the stores will run out of food.

If the virus doesn't slow down, it's a matter of time before we see shortages. I know if several manufacturing plants with extra high demand who had to shut down because too many employees were quarantined.

A lot of stores now have no-return policy on essentials, including Costco. Let's see how this changes things.

I'm not saying there can't be shortages of specific items, but I don't see any way there will be food shortage.

The other day there were long long lines in KRM waiting for some chicken. Every store is rationing stuff & some are completely OOS on certain things. I really hope it gets better.

It seems that's caused completely by increased demand by hoarders, at some point hoarders will have enough and stop buying so much. Additionally, while there seems to be a shortage of some foods, there definitely is no shortage of food.

Which will unfortunately continue, especially seeing all those empty shelves & fridges. 2 dz or even 4 dz eggs won’t cut it for pesach.

Genuinely interested; can you list other items that are OOS/being rationed? So far only saw eggs and chicken (food-wise).

Depending on the store-water, then there’s still paper towels, tissues, hand soaps. Who knows what tomorrow brings ? Who knew last week chicken would be an issue ?
(One grocer told me p- - - - - -s will be an issue soon)
