No. But I do find it fascinating that other congregate settings across NY (Cuomo presented 4 today) led to a large amount of infections. Yet bli iyan hara so far there have been mass congregations in our communities with no distancing at all and nothing has happened.
Our communities all had it, they didn't. Not sure why that's so complicated.

Is it really mind boggling that the scientific community hasn’t addressed the heimish community yet?
Considering that the WHO listed them on annual "Health risks" list....

With the tremendous pain and suffering the Jewish community has went through I find it mind boggling that some are willing to roll the dice on herd immunity.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

On the contrary.  Because "everyone" already had it, there's no feeling of rolling the dice.

You have no idea if everyone had it, if there really is immunity or if there is how long it will last.
You don't need to read 100's, 50 or ten stories of those that died. Reading one is enough to rip your heart out.
Is it to much to ask to just wear a mask?

I and members of my family have antibodies, so we're not shedding virus.  So we're not careful to wear a mask.
Each person who had symptoms - in most cases real, documented, covid-like symptoms - is sure they had covid, whether they've been tested and have antibodies or not. So mask wearing is lax. It's not because we care less or forgot the pain of losing our neighbor, Rabbi or good friend's brother.

Speaking from the ground there isn’t too much of a difference in the behaviors between people who’ve had actual COVID symptoms or people who haven’t but say “everybody had it”

On my block in Lakewood I believe more than half didn't get it.

Even those who think Lakewood has absolute herd immunity would agree that more than half of Lakewood was either asymptomatic or had prior natural immunity so your block would fit right in.

I’m referring to people that took the antibody tests

I know many people who had clear symptoms such as complete loss of smell who tested negative (tested too early? Not sensitive enough?) , as well as people exposed to household members who were positive on a ongoing basis who to tested negative. Your block is completely consistent. The fact remains that numbers are not budging despite the massive current exposure of the past 6 to 8 weeks.

That is not the same as

as well as people exposed to household members who were positive on a ongoing basis who to tested negative.
Based on current understanding it’s perfectly reasonable for some people in a household to get infected and others not.

Your block is completely consistent. The fact remains that numbers are not budging despite the massive current exposure of the past 6 to 8 weeks.
Time will tell, and be”h everything should work out fine. That’s still rolling the dice. See @aygart signature for more.

I think this is where a lot of people are getting tripped up. Being in a crowd does not mean you were exposed. You need to be near someone who has the virus in order to be exposed. Considering how few people had the virus in NYC over the last 6-8 weeks, and how few of those people were actually out and about, the fact is there was actually very little exposure over the last 6-8 weeks.

To your other points about people claiming they couldn't smell and people being exposed to others in there households, neither of these things mean there were already infected, and neither means they should have any assumption of immunity. As has been pointed out countless times already, exposure does not equal infected.

At this point, no one is insisting it anymore. There had been concern for months when there was little known about immunity. However, currently most (Lakewood) doctors believe there is some form of "mass" immunity which is keeping any possible spread down to a minimum.

I am personally of the opinion that we should take advantage of the current calm and allow people to "stretch their legs", before a possible resurgence if/when immunity wears off (see latest from Crown Heights on this).

Additionally, I have strong doubts that it will ever spread as quickly as it did the first time around since we now have better testing and more awareness amongst doctors and patients.
Lol not a day after I posted this, that we get this news:

I’m talking about people that never had symptoms, and both the husband and wife rest negative for antibodies. It’s really not that uncommon.
