The volunteers showing up for projects in my community are unbelievable. We were able to provide close to 3000 meals to kids today. Times like these are so awesome in so many ways. Tragedy often brings out unbelievable things.

How do they know it was on the plane and not in Vegas or the airport?

If I had to assume, it's because that's the only time they were potentially exposed while together. Walking through an airport is nowhere close to the risk level of sitting on a plane for 6 hours near people that need to remove their mask to eat and drink.

No excess suicide deaths in Massachusetts

Good: COVID isn’t causing extra suicides.
Bad: That means COVID caused more of the excess deaths, making it more dangerous.
Good: Excess deaths are down a lot, and it’s not because of fewer people committing suicide as the economy reopened. Which means we are certain that COVID is far less lethal now.

Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky recovers from coronavirus

Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, the leader of the non-hasidic haredi community, has recovered from the coronavirus, his doctor announced Wednesday afternoon.

Dr. Ori Rogowski announced that the 92-year-old Rabbi Kanievsky had recovered from the disease and that he would be able to emerge from quarantine.

Rabbi Kanievsky's household announced earlier this month that he had been diagnosed with the coronavirus but stated that he was in 'excellent' condition. Prime Minister Netanyahu wrote on Twitter at the time: "I join the mass prayers of the people of Issrael for the health of Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky. Please G-d, heal him."

Earlier today, Coronavirus Czar Prof. Ronni Gamzu announced his decision to shorten the coronavirus isolation period from 14 to 10 days, subject to two negative coronavirus tests.

"We have decided to shorten isolations to 10 days subject to two negative tests, the decision makers will make a final decision on the matter," Gamzu said at the briefing.

"There is a green light for the cabinet to continue with the following facilitations, but the event should be conducted by identifying trends and examining different populations. The situation requires that a program be implemented for all Arab localities.

The Coronavirus Czar said that the number of tests conducted daily was insufficient and addressed the Arab community: "That's it, go get tested. Let's protect ourselves. Cooperate with us."

He stated that the current statistics of "800 verified infections per day do not represent the true morbidity data. The true numbers stand at a few thousand - there is a latent morbidity."

What’s the litmus test? What quantifiable/binary measure will you use to indicate whether there is or isn’t a mass produced vaccine?

Are you suggesting I’ll be able to make an appt in late January at my PCP to get one? Will I be able to get one at a vaccination hotspot somewhere in NYC? Will this be available to everyone regardless of risk-factors/circumstances?

I don't quite get the practical application of this. If someone is not yet infected, what is the window of time they have from exposure to fully infected, that using mouthwash (even very frequently) is going to prevent infection? And if someone is infected and shedding, same problem - how long from using the mouthwash until the infection can 'retake' the oral/nasal passages?
