It doesn't say that he got the Spanish Flu (although it is implied), only that he was alive when it happened.
Right, that was my first thought about the headline. I suppose I'm an ebola, sars, mers, swine flu, and west nile survivor?
If you don't care why would you comment?

Big difference, Spanish flu was a global pandemic, all those you listed were not.
IINM 1/3 of the world caught the Spanish flu.

Obviously there's a difference but calling him a Spanish flu survivor is nothing but sensationalism.

I just passed it on the westside highway.
Looks incredible.
BTW westside highway looks scary...
Saw it docked at the cruise piers next to the Intrepid. Soldiers on hand. So is FEMA. Also saw today a huge tent hospital operation being erected in Central Park opposite Mount Sinai Hospital.

@KolHaolam
WASHINGTON: Get ready for the face of America to change: CDC is mulling a change to its guidance to encourage people to wear face masks for a limited time, as Asian countries do.

This is one way to ensure medical providers definitely wonít have sufficient masks, supplies are already so tight.

Make your own like my daughter is doing.

I want to make my own but canít keep up with 500,000,000 a day.
My barber needs your support, heís a real sweetheart.

There are billions of masks flooding the market now and itís only going up. Mostly cheap ones. If everyone wore them, the Drs wouldnít need a huge supply of good masks.

Why can't I find them if they are flooding the market?

A lot of the supply is still upstream, and a lot of it is going directly to hospitals/police etc. But still a lot of people started getting masks now that never had before. The ddms deal on masks last week is a sign of supply making its way here.

CNN: Some good news: Rate of increase of new coronavirus cases appears to be slowing in New York.

An analysis of CNN's count shows that average rate of day-over-day increase for the last seven days was 17% - compared to 58% for the previous seven-day period.

That's some pretty funky math. Forget percentages. Look at the number of deaths. That's the only real number. If you were able to accurately get the number of hospital beds + vents still available, that would also be relevant. Everything else is garbage.

How do I dislike a post? You fail to understand how this works. Deaths are indicative of previous infections that progressed to the point of death, it doesn't tell you what future numbers will look like (they are dead, they aren't included in future numbers). The rate of infection is what matters over time
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

You're right. Only problem is, we have no idea what the actual rate of infection is, because they aren't testing everyone. Therefore, every rate of infection number you are seeing is useless.

But they weren't testing everyone yesterday or the day before either. Unless you think they are testing fewer people, the rate of infection is not useless
