The study was not done the way he prescribes it ,early on

Coincidence, I know 2 people
1 a 50 YO women that had high fever + x2 lung pneumonia for a week + and after 2 days started getting better.
1 a 90+ YO man that had high fever + x2 lung pneumonia for a few days and after taking started getting better, he had someone monitoring his heart to make sure all is ok, after a few days when he was mostly better his heart started showing some irregular rhythm which he in return was instructed to stop taking, but he was mostly better by then and BH fully recovered.
Would be great if this is works. I personally know 2 people who were treated with it, seemingly started to recover, then died of cardiac arrest. Both older.

My grandmother and Rabbi Plutchok.

That is terrible, I know in the five towns that people who were taking it were regularly given EKGs because that could be a potential problem.

This should have been standard. Unfortunately both were released (because of an apparent shortage of beds) after showing strong signs of recovery. We have a lot of questions..

The doomsday projections of hospitals running out of beds seems to have caused lots of deaths. The whole nursing home thing in NY was because they were worried about the model that said they would have 140k hospitalizations. It seems like early discharges may have caused unnecessary death as well.

The medical establishment also did not know about the thickening of the blood right away. People were sent home with dangerously high numbers. Once they realized the issue it was monitored and treated before release.

Yes, this supports the Ben Ish Chai about fear killing more than a mageifa

BH we now have had time to find this out, this should help bring mortality down significantly. This is one more step in the right direction that time has bought us.

It also seems like the early intubation of lots of patients caused lots of problems. All hospitals are shifting away from ventilators as anything but a last resort.

Thanks, this was going around and has been a primary justification for people who have ignored the danger. Although this obviously would affect anyone who was hospitalized regardless of cause of death, it was no safer just because it wasn’t directly from COVID.

Also, after reading through it, it seems ironic that people were using it as a justification for ignoring the danger and continuing with life as usual when he was clearly saying that running far away from the city which is infected is the correct approach

Of course. Actually, I am shocked to hear that it was so misused. I took from it simply דברי חיזוק to not sink into despair, and retain בטחון, after common sense השתלדות.

Yes, but he also says something else there about shul, which I deliberately left out in this forum...

Ignoring the first few words of course since the end is so much more important.

This is ironic because FWIU ventilators at the time seemed to be the gold standard for treatment for serious cases with pneumonia, the sooner the better.

Yes. This likely led to a lot of deaths. Hospitals were intubating patients early because they thought it was safer for the nurses/doctors.
