https://www.cnbc.com/2020/06/08/asymptomatic-coronavirus-patients-arent-spreading-new-infections-who-says.html?fbclid=IwAR2QJX3LSJcrO5AQC2Do0qcBYswSoDA8PfU7Tk0LSrWN6rKhXhOFPqcvjwU

See here, there is a difference between asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic. HWO is saying that it's rare for asymptomatic to spread the virus, but "The incubation period, or the time a person takes to show symptoms after getting infected, is the pre-symptomatic phase, the WHO says. Carriers can infect others during this period."

WHO has lost all credibility (IMHO) after it backed China up on claims of no human-to-human transmission...

Dr. Fenster sent out that there were 2 new cases of COVID in Lakewood the last week, down from 5 one week ago. BH.
In Israel in May the numbers went down but now in June there starting to go back up.... will we see that trend in the US?

WHO said they have no evidence, and they didn't because China didn't forward it.

International organizations are never perfect, but they're better than nothing.

Sigh. Texas has a record of new cases & hospitalizations already. It never went away.

It seems all the places that are opening up are having a resurgence of cases and the numbers are going up.
Let's just hope that the places the are slower to open with actually see the numbers of cases stay down....

There was a coverup in China, and even when evidence seemed to point to the contrary, it is my opinion that WHO continued to aid and abet the coverup.

There is no herd immunity in Israel.

So the work of the 7000 current WHO employees, and WHO's record for the past 72 years, is outweighed by what you see as one error in early 2020?

Would you argue that rabbanim who insisted that shuls should stay open have also lost all credibility?

The original goal of the shutdown was to 'flatten the curve'.  At this point the hospitals are not too busy and the doctors have learned from experience.  A person getting covid-19 today is in a much better position than those who got it before Pesach.
It's time to open completely and let the vulnerable population decide their own risk tolerance.

@ckmk47 When you say that, what percent of the population do you imagine is "vulnerable"?  5%?  20%?  75%

Maybe a town or two in Northern Italy. Even Trump isn't dumb enough to use that argument
It's time to open completely and let the vulnerable population decide their own risk tolerance.
Because that strategy worked great for Sweden.

If it’s a coverup that has resulted in epic global repercussions then even if it’s one “error” it carries a lot more weight. Wouldn’t you agree?

They didn't cover up. They aren't an investigative body. Their charter it collect data from sovereigns and relay it. They did it fine.

Maybe what I read was sensationally framed in narrative that appeared to be a coverup.

They were saying that there was no human to human transmission while everyone on DDF was able to see from @yuneeq how there was.

They were saying there is no evidence, and they didn't have it. The world only knew from an HK professor that was in Wuhan by chance.
