So there's a big levaya planned in Boro Park today. There are so many reasons to predict it will make top news, as the Jewish community is once again flouting the rules and making super-spreader events. This is also a perfect gift for Cuomo, who is no doubt looking for a diversion for the media attention directed at him.

My suggestion (though I doubt anyone is listening): Put on all the levaya signs in big, English letter, "Only those who have received both doses of the vaccine may attend", or a variation of that ("verified antibodies," "tested negative in the last 3 days," etc.)

I don't think it will deter anyone from attending, but there is no real way for the media to know that, so it will mitigate the negative media coverage. Yes, it may still be illegal, but the media doesn't really care as long as you are being cautious.

Wishful thinking.. The most I'd hope for is that Shomrim will distribute face masks for all attendees. Bad press is unfortunately not really on top of the people's mind, and you wouldn't believe what a large percentage won't even know if there was bad press, unless BDB or Cuomo are addressing that directly, which I won't believe will happen again.

And there were already big Levayas without much covering at all, not that news worthy anymore.

See, the problem is you’re talking common sense, of which the media has none. They’re desperate for negative stories & nothing will deter them. I watched a cameraman standing on 13th ave. for quite a while only pointing the camera at unmasked people, & only jews, while totally ignoring the crowds of masked people. He needed a story of unmasked jews & he stood there for over an hour until he got enough to satisfy whoever sent him.
